B&B HOTELS Spain Services Guide: Breakfast, Parking, EV Charging, Pets and Late Check-Out

Budget hotel chains tend to look alike from the booking page: a price, a photo of a bed and a star rating. What separates one stay from another is usually the small print around it. Is breakfast worth adding? Can you park, and is there a charger for an electric car? What happens if your flight lands at nine in the morning or leaves late at night? Can the dog come?

B&B HOTELS, which says it has 991 hotels in 19 countries, publishes a full list of services for its Spanish hotels. This guide goes through the ones that matter most for city breaks and road trips, using the information on the B&B HOTELS Spain website, so you can decide what to add before you book rather than at the reception desk.

Breakfast: Standard or Premium Buffet

Breakfast is the service most guests think about first, and B&B HOTELS Spain now offers two levels. The brand says it works with local suppliers and that you choose your option when you book.

  • Standard buffet (all hotels): toast, several types of bread and pastries baked on the day; coffee, infusions, different kinds of milk and juices; fruit, cereals and yogurts; and savoury items including the classic Spanish potato omelette, cured meats and cheeses.
  • Premium buffet (many hotels): everything in the standard buffet plus freshly squeezed orange juice, hot dishes such as scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, and a wider selection of cold meats and cheeses. The brand marks this as available in many, not all, hotels.

There are also options for special diets. The brand describes a Healthy Corner with chia seeds, nuts and jams without added sugar, a separate gluten-free display for coeliac guests, and vegan choices based on fruit and nuts. A toaster and oven are available so you can warm bread and pastries yourself.

If you are leaving very early or plan to eat out, skipping breakfast is an easy saving. If you are travelling with children or have a long drive ahead, the premium buffet with hot dishes may be the better value. Check what your chosen hotel offers on its own page, since premium is not available everywhere.

Parking and Electric Car Charging

For road trips this is often the deciding factor. According to B&B HOTELS, almost all of its Spanish hotels have outdoor or indoor parking, many of them free. Where a hotel has no car park, the chain says it has agreements with the nearest one. Details are shown on each hotel page or available from reception.

Most of the car parks also have electric chargers, and the brand notes that charging may carry a cost. Two types are listed: chargers for Tesla customers and chargers for all electric cars with a Type 2 connector. B&B HOTEL Barcelona Sant Cugat is named as having Tesla Superchargers. Hotels listed with chargers include Albacete, Alicante, several Barcelona-area hotels (Granollers, Mataro, Mollet, Rubi, Sant Cugat and Viladecans), Cartagena Cartagonova, Castellon, Donostia San Sebastian Aeropuerto and Elche, among others.

Non-guests can also park in B&B HOTELS car parks, the brand says, which can be useful if you are meeting someone or visiting the city for the day.

Early Check-In and Late Check-Out

Standard times at B&B HOTELS Spain are check-in from 14:00 and check-out by 12:00. Both can be extended as paid extras:

  • Early check-in: lets you enter your room before 14:00, subject to availability, which reception will confirm.
  • Late check-out: lets you stay until between 13:00 and 16:00, depending on the hotel.

The brand states the service is available in all its hotels. It is most useful after an overnight journey, or on the last day of a trip when your train or flight leaves in the afternoon. The site also lists hourly bookings for anyone who only needs a room for part of the day, and a luggage storage service if you would rather just leave your bags.

Travelling With a Dog or Cat

B&B HOTELS says all its hotels in Spain are pet friendly. The rules published on its pet page are straightforward:

  • Dogs and cats up to 40 kg are welcome, with one pet per room. For other cases, contact the hotel.
  • Contact the hotel by phone or email after booking to confirm a pet-friendly room is available.
  • On arrival you sign a short pet agreement at check-in.
  • Your pet must stay with you in common areas and cannot be left alone in the room.
  • Staff will show you a suitable area of the breakfast room so you can eat together.
  • Because of a deep-cleaning protocol for stays with pets, the optional BE eco service is not available on those bookings.

The brand suggests bringing your pet’s bed, bowls, food and favourite toys.

Other Extras Worth Knowing

Beyond the headline services, the Spanish services page lists a number of smaller extras. Not every hotel has all of them, so check the hotel page before relying on one:

  • 24-hour reception and online check-in
  • Luggage storage and scales for weighing suitcases before a flight
  • Cots for babies and a children’s area

The brand also runs a loyalty programme called B&me, with a paid B&me CLUB tier. Conditions are set out on the brand’s site, so read them before you sign up and compare the benefits with how often you actually travel.

How to Plan Your Stay

Start with the destination and dates, then open the page of the specific hotel. That is where parking type and price, charger availability and the breakfast level are shown. Add breakfast at booking if you want it, contact the hotel if you are travelling with a pet, and ask about early check-in or late check-out if your travel times are awkward. You can search hotels and dates on the B&B HOTELS booking page or browse the full list of Spanish hotels.
