What Is A2A Start?
A2A Start is a home energy offer for electricity, gas, or both together. Its main promise is stability: A2A says the plan lets you shelter from market fluctuations by locking in the price of electricity and gas for 24 months. You can choose a single-rate (monoraria) electricity price or a time-of-use (multioraria) price, depending on when you use most of your energy at home.

The Prices on the Official Page
At the time of writing, the A2A Start page lists the following prices, valid for subscriptions until 28 October 2026:
Electricity, single rate: €0.17300 per kWh.
Electricity, time-of-use: €0.17760 per kWh in band F1 and €0.17080 per kWh in bands F23.
Gas: €0.6700 per standard cubic metre (Smc).
Fixed sales fee: €114 per year for electricity and €114 per year for gas.
It is important to understand what the fixed price covers. A2A explains that the fixed price applies to the energy component of electricity, including network losses (10% for low-voltage supplies), and to the gas raw material. The offer also includes a fixed annual sales fee. The remaining parts of the bill, such as network and system charges, are applied and updated according to the rules set by ARERA, Italy’s energy regulator. In other words, the energy price is locked, but your total bill will still depend on how much you use and on regulated charges.

Who Can Choose A2A Start?
According to A2A, the offer is aimed at three types of customer: people switching from another supplier, people who need to activate a new meter, and people switching from another supplier who also want to change the name on the supply contract.
A2A states that there is no cost to start the new contract, supply continues without interruption and no work on the meter is needed when you change tariff.
What Happens After 24 Months?
The economic conditions of A2A Start are valid for 24 months. A2A explains that at least 90 days before they expire, you will receive a written notice with the new commercial proposal and its validity period. You can then decide whether to accept the renewal or withdraw from the contract. If no notice is sent, the conditions continue until A2A Energia sends one, again with at least 90 days’ notice and with your right to withdraw preserved.
